NORTH KOREA
NORTH KOREA
December 2017 ~ 2019
Our Vex Robotics club initiated and organized a volunteering service for North Korean Refugees. Although many of the Vex Robotics members were shy at first, the team became closer with the North Korean refugees by discussing their passion for robotics. This service in particular supported North Korean refugees in sharing their passion for robotics and learning how to become active participants in Vex Robotics. Our typical stereotypes towards North Koreans were shattered through our vibrant discussions with North Korean refugees.

KIS had the honor to host the KORCOS IEC on 2019, and our club demonstrated our passion for VEX Robotics through a short presentation to teachers. Many teachers and admins were interested in sponsoring our club.

Our club demonstrated leadership by providing underclassmen with opportunities to learn more about VEX Robotics and STEM in general. Our club officers, made up of veteran members of the VEX Robotics, educated the new members of the club. Many underclassmen enthusiastically responded to our short discussions about robotics with curiosity sparking in their eyes.

AFTER SCHOOL SESSIONS
Since August 2014
We host after school sessions every week where our club members can work on building their robot and programming their autonomous program. Club members actively display their collaborative work to anyone who is interested in learning more about Vex Robotics. During these sessions, vex members are able to focus and motivate others into building successful robots.
