Designing this website required our deep understanding  of the WIX website editor. With limited options in the WIX editor, we had to find solutions that can attract not only the judges but other visitors and our members. This led us to choose 3 main colors: blue, gray, and red. Gray and red represents the VEX Robotics logo, and the blue represents our main color of KIS; however, even with this beautiful color choices, it was difficult for us to find how we should make the text pop out from the background colors. To solve this problem, we decided to partially overlap the same text with different colors that we chose for the website. The title headings for each page employs this design. 

 

Since our website has many pages, it was important for us to keep the visitors on focus, so we decided to give some variations with the colors but keep the way that the headings were written. These variations allowed us to represent the creativity that VEX Robotics also pursues. We were also able to give out different vibes for each page with these different color variations.

 

The fonts that I chose for the website is mainly flat and simple, which we thought fits very well with the dark and matte colors we used. The matte colors are comfortable to look at especially the red. Since we duplicated the header text and created a 3D look, employment of a flat and simple font was crucial. The 3D-style text was still recognizable because of the simple and flat font style.

We had different members view the website; however, WIX had a unique problem where the site does not automatically adjust any screen size. So when we edited the website using a 15 inch MacBook, the published page screen did not fit on a 13 inch MacBook. This published site meant that we had to adjust the way we edited the website by matching with the 13 inch screen sizes.

Thus, we added a pop out element when an individual visits the website that warns them: this website might not be suitable for screen sizes smaller than 15 inches, so please zoom out to enjoy the full features of the website.
